Bungendore village has many special attractions including world class, cool climate wineries and vineyards, a diverse array of galleries specialising in fine art, leather ware, crafts and photography. The internationally acclaimed Bungendore Wood Works Gallery is the recipient of numerous national and regional tourism awards and should not be missed. Wander through the gift shops specialising in garden art, plants, gifts and home wares. Spend time searching for that certain book or a special antique. Choose from the extensive range of fresh local and imported produce for a picnic or be tempted from one of the many fine restaurants and cafes. Come and join in the special events of the Bungendore Public School Spring Fair, Country Muster and the Rodeo. Bungendore and its immediate region require more than one day to explore. Stay overnight, there is an excellent selection of accommodation to suit all budgets. Enjoy the friendliness of a country community only 30 minutes from our National Capital.
This website began in 2004 and has grown considerably, aiming to have all Bungendore and region businesses and services listed. Bungendore and Region Information started in May 2005 to promote Bungendore and the surrounding region. It covers the area of Bungendore (including Bywong, Mount Fairy and Wamboin), Captains Flat, Hoskinstown, Sutton and Tarago. Builders and tradespeople covered under the Home Building Act 1989 who undertake residential work where the labour content is worth more than $200 or undertake specialist work in NSW are required to be licenced. Advertisements relating to residential building that do not display a licence number imply that the labour content is no more than $200. All persons contracting to do specialist work as defined by the Home Building Act must be licenced.
