| The Lake George Hotel is one of Australia's oldest continuously licensed hotels, opening in 1838 as the Harp Hotel. This was just a year after Bungendore itself was established in 1837. The Lake George has seen name and building changes with two major refurbishments: a motel was added in 1964 and a major refurbishment was completed in 2001. | ||

was planted in 1976 with initial plantings of Cabernet, Rhine Riesling,
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard now covers four hectares
including Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Shiraz and Merlot with the grafting
of Rhine Riesling to Pinot Noir nearly complete. The vineyard was
named Affleck (a corruption of 'achadh-nan-leac' — the field
of stones or stoney field) after the farm in Huntly, Scotland occupied
by the Hendry family for more than 250 years. One of the oldest and smallest wineries in the Canberra district, offering both excellent table and fortified wines. There are lovely picnic areas and cheese platters can be purchased. |

| Lark Hill is located
at 860m on the Lake George escarpment overlooking Bungendore. It is
in an environmental protection zone and is home to many species of
birds and wildlife. The vineyard was named for the sky larks which
sing and soar above the vineyard in late Winter and early Spring.
The wines win many Gold Medals and consumer awards and have an international
reputation as New World wines with Old World style and balance; made
with minimal handling and preservatives. Enjoy a tasting and a chat with the family winemaking team by the fireside in winter, or a stroll in the vineyard during milder weather. Check our website for special events, offers and wine releases. Lark Hill is just 30 minutes from Canberra and is 12 km from the Federal Highway. |

Yarrowlumla Estates
is a boutique winery, established in 2004. Yarrowlumla is an Aboriginal
name, meaning 'where the cry comes back from the mountains' or 'echo’
and was chosen due to the position of the estate, above Bungendore.
Our wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in our cool climate
vineyard in the hills above Bungendore in the Canberra District
wine growing region. The vineyard was established in 1996 and features
Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc varietals. There are no cellar
door facilities but orders can be accepted by mail, phone or fax
and delivery is free if you live in Bywong, Bungendore or Wamboin. |

| Alcoholics Anonymous
is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength
and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem
and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Only you can decide whether you want to give A.A. a try - whether you think it can help. We who are in A.A. came because we finally gave up trying to control our drinking. We still hated to admit that we could never drink safely. Then we heard from other A.A. members that we were sick. (We thought so for years!) We found out that many people suffered from the same feelings of guilt and loneliness and hopelessness that we did. We found out that we had these feelings because we were sick with alcoholism. We decided to face up to what alcohol had done to us. Remember, there is no disgrace in facing up to the fact you have a problem. |
